Vale Sardar Ajmer Singh Gill

Sardar Ajmer Singh Gill passed away after prolonged illness at his Victorian home in the presence of his family on 2nd May 2024.

Sardar Ajmer was much loved family person, a well respected Sikh leader, who committed his life long passion to work and help Sikhi.

He was one of the founding members and the President of National Sikh Council of Australia, and also founded Sikh Youth Australia, MCC NSW – Multicultural Communities Council of NSW, and served briefly with Defence Australia as a Sikh member to Religious Advisory Committee to Services.

He was passionate about multiculturalism, inter faith and education. He was a pioneer in the community providing support and mentorship to Sikh youth and community.

Born 28 July 1942, he will be missed.
